Anyone else as excited for this as I am? Has been a while since I was looking forward to a game as much as Fifa 12. Will be heading down to the mid-night launch at my local Game on the 30th!

Not really, because Arsenal will be crap on it.

Ultimate team is my favourite mode to play.

A lot of nice games are coming out lately. The next three games I am exited about is FIFA , driver (I played the demo on xbox really like it), and mw 3

Yep, Ultimate Team is great... played over 1000 games of it on Fifa 11.

Want to play some Head to Head on Fifa 12 the first few weeks, try and get top 100 UK.

Fifa 12 demo is out this Tuesday too I just found out!

Rented Driver, is actually a decent game... not sure if it's worth buying though, would get bored of it too quickly!

I think UT would be better if they added a few new features.

Like, being able to choose kit numbers, being able to set your team up in a custom formation before the game, chemistry grows after a certain number of games, player growth.

100 games and players like Kieran Gibbs and Aaron Ramsey are still rated 76?

Not sure player growth, choosing kit numbers or custom formations would work though, the idea behind Fifa UT is you buy/sell and trade cards. The trading system would be far too complicated if all those things were possible!

Should be getting FIFA 12 on release day as it's generally cheaper then as well as MW3 getting that on release day too.

Yep... I sold FIFA 11 a couple months ago to get a bit of loose change before everyone starts handing their copies in.

Anyone get the demo today. Graphics look well. Playing Barca on World Class, you hardly get a touch of the ball lol. Some new celebrations too... had the computer do the new 'Gareth Bale' Celebration <3 against me. Long balls are pretty nice, very accurate.

The tackling is a lot different though, is definitely taking some getting used to!!

Only exhibition match available. 3 minute halves.
Teams: Man City, Marseilles, Arsenal, Dortmund, Barca, AC Milan.

The tackling is going to take a while to get used to.

Well now when you press A (Xbox 360 controller) you 'contain' the other teams player rather than actually tackling them - a bit like Jockeying. You then have to press another button to pressure and tackle them which is the B button.

The problem with that is they then have the RB button set to teammate contain which is impossible to use. So i've had to completely change the button layout.

I have set teammate contain to the B button like on Fifa 11, then put the tackle button as Y. Which means Rush GK which was Y is now RB. Hope that makes sense, layout is working well for me. Plus I have the camera on Co-op for now, seems to play better!

Just beat City 3 times in a row on World Class with Arsenal... didn't take too long to get used to.

The hardest part is definitely the tackling system... you can contain, teammate contain, tackle and slide tackle now. Knowing what to use and when makes it more difficult but already getting used to it. Can't wait to get playing this online and own some noobs!!

Yeah, played the demo yesterday. I rushed the tackling tutorial first time round but had to re-launch the game to watch it again. I got the hang of it in the training arena but on the pitch it's much to hard to get used to.
Example, in the training arena, you're positioned so you can do the tasks like Jockeying for 6 seconds whereas on the pitch, the players find it hard to chase the attacker down let alone get in a good position and face them (LT).

Of course I can use B to push/tug and select another player defending to do that LT+B thing but i dunno. It seems so LONG like... And that RB (Co-contain) move just opens up my play even more. Got a little frustrated with it yesterday but yeah.

I'll try again later today. Maybe I'd have gotten a little used to it since then... MAJOR change for me though.

Anyone got any tactical tips for the "Tactical defending"? or is the tutorial all there is to it?

I suggest competely changing the controller to a custom layout. First of all change RB (Teammate contain) to B... this is just like Fifa 11 controls.

Now Push/Tug/Tackle will be RB but it's almost impossible to use and run at the same time. So switch it to Y (GK Rush). Now you have:

A - Contain
B -Teammate Contain
Y - Push/Tug/Tackle

Makes life so much easier and apart from Y it's pretty much the same as Fifa 11 controls. You can then easily use Y if you time it right when you get close to a player... and remember RB is GK rush now.

Also RB as GK rush makes it so much easier to bring out the keeper on corners and also be able to head the ball!

Press > contain. This Fifa sucks.

Also, the fact that UT comes with the game now is probably a bad thing, it means I won't play the career mode or spend some time getting my VP some accomplishments.

Not really a fan of the standing tackle either, feels really clunky.
