Any MW2 experts? I need advice on something

Please read this article on Rapid Fire first...

Rapid Fire - The Call of Duty Wiki - Call of Duty: Black Ops, Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty 4, characters and more

Im using the Vector with Akimbo AND Rapid Fire attachments.

Given how the Vector has the highest fire rate of any SMG, Rapid Fire increases that by a third and Akimbo effectively doubles the total - this makes these twin smgs totally lethal when used at close to mid range.

BUT... How much better/worse would it be if I instead dropped the Rapid Fire so I could use the Sleight Of Hand perk instead of Bling?

You see I tend to use this class when on smaller maps like Crash and Scrapyard, and the trouble with that is there's enemies EVERYWHERE!!! So once I kill one guy i turn around and there's two more standing there unloading at me, and because Im firing both Vectors simultaneously I have to reload after every kill. And therein lies the problem - as Im reloading an enemy will pop out and slaughter me!

So how less lethal do you think this class will be if I drop Rapid Fire for the Sleight Of Hand Perk? And do you think it's worth it or the best thing to do?

Haha lol ye i probably should, but its difficult to know for sure how effective it would be, cus every game is so different and its not like the game tells you how much damage your doing.

In fact, i dont understand how the COD wikia site gets all that info on damage numbers, eg.. when they say that the damage of a certain weapon is 55-70 or something - i've no idea what that means. And im certainly not the sharpest player out there, with any class.

So was just hoping maybe someone could advise what they would do. I know its late and theres only 17 members online so its probably not the best time to post but im nocturnal so was just a shot in the dark really (no pun intended lol

)

Tbh I think you timed it perfectly. I'd say a lot of "MW2 Experts" are probably borderline insomniacs too

I hate the vector, hate using rapid fire and I dislike akimbo on automatics - so I don't have a lot of experience in that area I'm afraid.

I use sleight of hand with all my classes, its the best perk in my opinion.. I've used a UMP45 with rapid fire and didn't see much of a difference when i used another gun add-on so i say go for it. Can't go wrong with a little experimenting and seeing what works best for you.

No problem.

I have six classes anyway thats just one...

RIOT
Riot shield with stun grenades and throwing knives with scavenger perk. Pretty effective on some maps when you know how - theres youtube vids demonstrating this strategy.

RAG
Run and gun - this is the one im referring to.

NINJA
Marathon, lightweight and ninja pro perks and i only use my secondary weapon - a pistol with tactical knife. Basically you just run around the map super fast knifing people before they have time to react. On some maps you can rack up so many kills its crazy lol. Again theres some cool vids on youtube - one in particular on the highrise where the guy gets like 32 kills or something i cant remember.

CHAMPION
My most used class - SCAR AR with RDS and noob tube, with twin pistols for close combat (only until i unlock twin rangers!)

AA
Anti-air - same as champion but i use Cold-blooded and have stinger as secondary weapon. Also i swap the noob tube for a mounted shotgun for close combat.

GUERRILLA
This one's about staying off the radar and i usually use this in free-4-all matches - Ninja Pro (only cus i cant unlock SitRep pro), Coldblooded and a silencer on both weapons.

FFA - Any silenced gun with claymores & scavenger = easy win
S&D1 - Silenced ump with marathon & lightweight
S&D2 - Silenced ump with marathon & coldblooded
Riot - Riot shield with scavenger, danger close & C4
Support - Stinger & Coldblooded
Fun - Any assortment of weapons and perks used to piss about in pvt matches mostly

Currently using the overwatch default class in most of my games now though; the LSW & AT4 are so much fun to use.

How do u use the C4 with your riot class? Do you place down then back away or do you place down and set it off knowing you'll have protection and the enemy won't?

I havent unlocked danger close yet cus im on lvl30 prestige 1. Tbh i wish i hadnt prestiged lol. Im chuffed to get an extra class but i miss my Rangers and my RPG. Plus never really got to use the AK. If i make it again before black ops comes out i definitely aint gonna prestige again.

Edit: I dont really know how best to use LMGs. With the right perks the AUG HBAR can be used like an AR but other than that i dont get it. Cus if you're providing cover fire continuously then your muzzle flash gives away your position instantly.

thanks. sorry i didnt see ur post earlier.

just tried it out and i got more kills and i remember one particular kill which i can say for certain i only managed because i was using sleight of hand. i think its best to stick with this for a while cus the lethality of the guns didnt seem noticeably less.

Yeah & if you double tap reload you can set it off without having lift your riot shield

Use it on objective based games like demolition or sabotage. The LSW is great at holding down flanks & long corridors & you can get great multi-kills with the AT4. Hella fun too

To answer the original question and some others that weren't answered I'll post.

For a start the vector with Rapid Fire gives terribad recoil. But I guess akimbo cancels that out, I'd say that a single vector with a silencer would gve better results. But if I must answer the question, there would be practically no difference between the two, Sleight of Hand is also more versatile than Bling.

Also, damage is calculated using the fact that every player has an invisible health bar which starts at 100. Or in hardcore modes at 30. Weapons do a set amount of damage and this damage does drop due to range. Painkiller also thirds any incoming damage.
