Goldeneye remake!

Yes along with CoD 7 another epic title will be released and that's N64s Goldeneye. I remember the days where I used to invite my friends round and play Goldeneye all night splitscreen. Unfortunatley only available to Wii but hey something for all you nostalgic fans.
My question is if this why wasn't this released much earlier>
I'd love this to go on Xbox or PS3, it'd be a huge hit no doubt.

The original Goldeneye was supposed to be Updated and released on XBLA.
But MS didnt want to give Nintendo such a big cut.

I never played the original as a kid. And trying to get into the mutliplayer at this stage in my life with other games like Gears or CoD to compete with makes it seem so dull unfortunately. I know it must have been legendary back then, but I can't see it now unfortunately.

Nevertheless, the single player still seems to be great! So I will pick it up regardless just to play that in modern graphics (if you can call the wii modern graphics...). I think its good that it comes out on the Wii since it was originally on the N64... all the fans who have stayed loyal to Nintendo will get to have their own Nostalgia fest, almost as a thanks. Espescially after the recent drought of good games for the Wii.

Man alive, I remember wasting days of my life on that game. Utterly brilliant.
I remember going to a friends house whilst at uni, we had some drinks and er....some special student cigarettes, and played that bad boy till the sun came up. When I went outside I saw someone walking down the street and my immediate reaction was to reach for my gun and shoot them.

Happy days.

Goldeneye on the N64 was incredible, one of my fav games of all time!

I hope for nostalgic purposes that this game is even half as good as the original. I hear they have re-done this version and included Daniel Craig so will be very interesting. Multi-player with odd job on 1 shot 1 kill was deadly!

As amazing as the original was, this is not guaranteed to be anything special. The reason being it is a remake of the film not the game, so although it could still be awesome, it could just be another crap movie tie-in

I doubt it, I mean bringing it back from it's 13 year absence is enough motivation for myself to buy a Wii. From the looks of the trailer the classic multiplayer is back and looks a lot of fun with mates. The graphics are weirdly nostalgic by not being kinda blocky - I take that as a good thing. Two of the most epic FPSes in one month!

Hm, you know, I never actually got into GoldenEye. It's cool that they're remaking it though. It's more than just a fan favourite.

Why's that then? An FPS can do well on the Wii. I won't be surprised if it fails to make it with the casual crowd, but actual gamers own the console too. And much like any fan favourite revival, it'll sell better than a girl at a Star Trek convention.

@Diesel, I don't think it's going to fail. Like many people GoldenEye coming back is enough in itself to make me wanna buy a Wii. If it does fail I hope they make PS3 or Xbox versions or DL it from their respective stores. Trust me, the amount of people back when Goldeneye was buzzing - 13 years later It's back, who wouldn't grab a copy.
