Splinter Cell: Conviction

Anyone played the demo yet?
If so what did you think of it?
I personally love it so far, only problem I have with it is the lip-syncing is so bad but I don't care too much about that so

I played through the demo twice yesterday and both times I just thought......What. The. Phuq.

It might as well be called Gears of Cell now as stealth seems to have taken a complete back seat to using weapons. The AI seems pretty awful as well - That bit where you are in the sewery things and you can walk out shoot them and then walk back in there and they'll stand there just waiting for you to pick them off.

I loved the original couple of games and I've been looking forward to this for ages, but I think it's just dropped from being a definite purchase to a LoveFilm rental (Thanks Oli!)

I agree the AI is rubbish, the difficulty doesn't change at all no matter what mode you put on it, and the fact they just stare at your 'last known' until you decide to kill them is pretty bad. I don't have to much problem with the fact that it involves using your weapons more. Seeing as I try not take that approach but It's always nice taking down several enemies in one swift motion

The original Splinter Cell was one of the only games that I thought the stealth really worked. If I ever messed up and was spotted I'd always restart back to my last checkpoint and try again.

It seems that you have no choice to use your gun in Conviction and although it may be a slight harsh to judge it just on the demo, it doesn't seem good enough to go up against other 3rd person shooters.

I can't download the demo as I don't have live or a hard drive yet but the game looks amazing so I will be buying it whether i play the demo or not!
