Gaming Pc

Helllooo I've been thinking about making a pc which can play the latest games and I've been mixing and matching components in the hope of being able to play the likes of Crysis and COD 4/5 on high settings (probably not highest settings on my budget)
I was wondering if anyone could tell if this spec would accomplish that for me, cheers:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000 1MB (2 x 2.6 GHZ)
4GB PC-6400 800 MHZ (2 x 2 GB) (DDR2)
NVIDIA GeForce 9600GT - 512 MB - 2xDVI/VGA
250 GB SATA-II HDD UDMA 300 7200 8MB
Running on Vista

The price for it all comes to £435 that includes paying the £65 for vista, my max budget is probs £500 so if u feel u know a componet which I could replace then please say so
Thank youuu

That should do the trick, although for gaming I recommend an Intel processor.
Try this combination of Mobo and Processor:
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Socket 775 (3.0GHz) 1333FSB 6MB L2 Cache Retail Boxed Processor - Ebuyer
MSI P45 Neo3-FR Socket 775 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard - Ebuyer

Maybe you could get away with a bigger HDD too?
Samsung HD502IJ SpinPoint F1 500GB Hard Drive SATAII 7200rpm 16MB Cache - OEM - Ebuyer

This is the best guide imo, OCUK forums, they have posted system specs into sections, of tower, full etc, and then by price range, they will be the best choice at the time, which is 3rd jan.

the gfx in the 500 quid tower one, is better than the 9600GT too.

Just take a look, its the best bet for choosnig compoentns,

and OCUk is very good too to buy from,

Thnx for the help, one other thing I was wondering is whats the difference between expensive and cheap motherboards?
Cud I get away with getting a fairly good cpu and gpu and buying a low end motherboard? Cuz getting a good motherboard takes me over my budget : /
Thnx

u'll need a fairly decent one to cope with the other componants. the hardest bit is making sure everything is compatable. (thank god for geeky housemates!!)

I used novatech. relativly cheap but good quality, helpful and good service!
