| ...that never gets used | Loosing weight with the WiiAnyone here done it. I'm waiting on my Wii Fit (although who knows when stock will appear anywhere and I'll get one) and am going to set myself a weight loss goal. I'm going to start now, playing Wii Sports and Mario and Sonic for a half hour each day and hopefully I'll loose a stone by the end of September. Think I'll do it. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Loosing weight with the Wiido keep track with a set of scales and make a note of your weight according to the scales as well as the wiifit's bmi indicator thingy, would be interesting to see how accurate it is, and if it records the same level of weight loss.

The wii fit is really just meant as a bit of fun, though 10 minutes of hula hoop will have you sweating lol.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Loosing weight with the WiiI don't think the wiifit will help you gain muscle mass, it won't offer much resistance, compared to lifting weights at the gym. Think the_detox is into weights, so im sure he would advise better

![]() ![]() | Re: Loosing weight with the WiiI played it over at my mates house and we did the press up challenges. They make you do a lot more press ups as it records high scores etc so that might help with muscle build up.

![]() | Re: Loosing weight with the WiiI bought the Wii fit to loose my spare tyre for my wedding and in three months I lost nearly a stone and a half. The trick is to warm up first- doing Hulla Hoops or Step aerobics, or if you've unlocked the boxing you can get a good sweat on with that. I have also found the Jogging a good fat-burner and since have been doing that whilst on a mini trampoline (I bought for a tenner). This is based on information I read that stated that NASA have found that ten minutes exercise on a mini trampoline can burn as many calories as running for 30 minutes. I now do this whilst carrying a rucksack with a 5 kg weight in it. Following all that I would go onto the yoga to warm my muscle up and then onto the muscle exercises. The Wii fit is the best investment I have ever made. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Loosing weight with the WiiI think if you do the jogging everyday you will lose weight - just make sure to do the two minute course as a warm and stretch your calves as it's a bit of a killer on those. The boxing is also hard work once you unlock it so I think those two in particular will help. The yoga can be tough if you are infelxible (like me) but probably not one for losing weight.

| ...that never gets used | Re: Loosing weight with the WiiThanks. I could probably also be doing with some Yoga, I'm also inflexible. Choosing computing at college and getting a job sitting in front of a PC all day was bad for my health. Now I just need to wait for Amazon getting some Wii Fits in stock |

![]() | Re: Loosing weight with the WiiI'm looking to get a wii and then definitely the wii fit but I think it might be a waste considering I've got a gym membership. I think the extra exercise will burn me out but its definitely more convenient to do it from home. I reckon I'll still get it though as its definitely good fun.

![]() | Re: Loosing weight with the WiiAs a sports therapist and personal trainer i can say that the wii fit is a fun alternative to exercise. By reviewing the exericses available on the game I dont think you would achieve an increase in muscle bulk, but more muscle tone and endurance, while helping improve flexability with the yoga and also sheding a few pounds if gone about in the right manor Im currently awaiting my wii fit from amazon.fr (french amazon) it only worked out £3 (with delivery) more and imho well worth it as i don't need to put up with the hassle of finding it in stock in th uk.

Not tested it yet as everything I own is being packed at the moment so I dont have the space. As soon as we've moved though I can't wait to get cracking with it. I'd like to lose weight with it, but I'm going to keep my expectations realistic for now. Working up a sweat, getting a rush of endorphins and making me more aware of my body will hopefully be a good start for the time being. Good luck null!

![]() | Re: Loosing weight with the WiiI think the wii fit should never have been released, it just shows how lazy this country (and many others) have become. I mean whatever happened to just going to the gym? It's like buying a treadmill, whats the use spending your hard earned money to run on the thing when you have miles and miles of space outside to run in? Trying to lose weight with video games just sounds crazy to me, i'm sorry it just does. If you're serious about losing weight then why not try to eat less and go out for a jog every now and then, rather than being couped up in the house and sweatting away on a video game? Sorry if this offends anyone, im just trying to express my opinion on the wii fit. |
