  |  3D0 - The Need For Speed - Fan thread !I'll probably be the only person posting here - but darn it I loved this game. The video clips were dodgy, but the crash simulations were SOoooo good. I never could get the ridge racer hack working though  My disc became so scratched it ws unplayable.I blame 3D0 for taking off error correction to gain an extra 100 meg on the cd. Stupid idea. For those who dont know, NFS franchise began on 3D0. I dont think it had a two player mode which was rubbish. The 3D0 would have probably exploded with the demands made on it ! |

I remember going to an M2 preview ( what a joke) and wishing that they would release need for speed on it. NFS was actually a pleasure just to cruise around in, not jsut race. How amny games can you say that about ! |

| Re: 3D0 - The Need For Speed - Fan thread !I remember NFS2 on PC being the most amazing game I ever played, even though I had to play it in "interlaced" (horrible half resolution) to get it moving at any reasonable rate. More recent ones have been good too... NFS:HP2 was ace, and the Underground games are pretty nice to drive too. |

I loved: Road Rash NFS Gex That EA boxing One Total Eclipse The Horde Samurai Showdown I hated: Demolition Man - anyone who wants that for free - pm me. Alternativly I'm burning its ass on the 5th of novmeber. Rubbish giant sized box - us import - garbage ! Sly made a bad game cringworthy with his awful digitised sprite ! |

Then 3D0 went down the pan and a load of kids and parents blamed me for the £400 losses they had incurred. I was VERY unpopular for at least a year. Now none of my friends trust me - selling free ipods isnt easy after the " 3D0 incident" ! |

| Re: 3D0 - The Need For Speed - Fan thread !Thing is 3D0 cds wouldnt even read in a PC CD ROM drive. Thats the real reason they broke the cd rom format. To stop copying. The extra 50 - 100mb was hardly worth it as the life of the discs was completely ruined. Back then chips like the x3 were unthinkable ! |
