xbox 360. premium vs arcade vs elite?

my mates have arcade, and they say its good,

but should i go for the premium or elite or arcade?

ive never had an xbox and i want it to be all singing all dancing, i want to be able to play live and watch DVDs without buying add ons.

so which one is best?

I've got the elite, its got 120gb storage, and the other two (premimum and arcade) are like 20gb and 256mb. Its also got HDMI built in and is black so suits my TV

they are all the same console at the end of the day, the different packages all have different levels of accessories

If you dont plan to download movies/trailers/store music on the xbox then the premium will do you fine, however the arcade/premium are white, and the elite is black - that can be a issue for some people.

I have an arcade...has built HDMI and all the bits you need to play games. The only thing it doesn't have is the hard drive, which can be purchased separately. The 256mb memory card is fine for playing / saving games.
So if you don't plan on downloading content, the arcade is up for the job!

the Premium 360 SKU is due to be phased out soon in favour of the new 60gb Pro SKU, which will be accompanied by a price slash for the Arcade, Pro and Elite SKUs.

just so ya know.

besides, if you have any USB storage devices, those should function adequately with the 360, either as directly accessible storage, or permanent storage while you just shuffle on the content you need when you need it. so, unless you're going to have masses of content that would make this impractical, your only real consideration needs to be price - how much you're willing to spend given what that money is going to get you.

Premium or Elite.

Core is so basic and only for those who don't really want to go online.

I have an Elite now cos I got it free but the Premium was fine - only with limited storage space and I had no HDMI cable.

while the nnew xbox's have ahd the common hardware fault fixed, theres no guarantee whether your buying a new console or an old one, but with the Elite they fixed it before it came out.
also, just looks soo good

I have a Premium connected to my TV, and a brand new Elite sitting here in a box doing nothing... I'm selling the Elite and keeping my current one! From my 13gb actual space on my HD, I have 10gb left, I've had it under a year, so there's no point of the bigger HD And all the XBox 360s come with a HDMI port now

Get yourself a premium unless you are willing to pay more for the black elite version. It has everything you need to get started, inlcuding a hard drive.

so general consensus appears to be Premium, in which case I'd like to again point out the upcoming 60gb Pro model release which is due in the next two months or so. 60gb, and a new chipset - Jasper, I believe - which will have a further reduced failure rate and also lowers the console's power consumption.

not as much of a wildcard as the Premium, it'll apparently match the spec of the Elite in everything but the HDD, and it's accompanied by a price slash. neato.
