GAME's Greatest Games of All Time Poll

Just wondered what you thought of the results of GAME's poll:

Greatest Games of all time at GAME.co.uk

I thought the top 10 are all great games, although having only played the first mission of COD4 at a mates - I wasn't sure about it being the best game of all time?

Am I wrong?

1 Call of Duty 4 (Multiformat) - Not the best game of all time, it's quite a good game, but doesn't deserve top spot.

2 Zelda Ocarina of Time (N64) - I can't say I've ever played this!

3 Final Fantasy VII (PSone) - Never played this either (as you can see... I've always been a PC gamer )

4 Grand Theft Auto IV (Multiformat) - Again, not worth being this high up.

5 Super Mario 64 (N64) - I can agree with this, it's a bloody awesome game, can't wait to get it on the Wii!

6 007 Goldeneye (N64) - So was this, 4 mates crowded round a 14" tube TV, awesome times.

7 Halo 3 (Xbox 360) - What? why the hell is this up here? Total let down of a game.

8 Metal Gear Solid (PSone) - Didn't play MUCH of this, so can't really put my opinions down.

9 Half Life 2 (Multiformat) - I'm glad this is somewhere up there, should be number 1 imo, the best game I've ever played anyway.

10 Gears of War (Multiformat) - Hmm, it's pretty good, somewhat different, I guess I can settle for it being up here

Surely games like Mario Kart (snes) and Streetfighter 2 (snes) should both be higher....

These have stood the test of time for sooooooo long.

Also what about the early incarnations of pro evo soccer i.e pro evo 3 & 4, they were immense and far better than pro evo 6 which finished the highest off all the pro evo games.

They defo got the top 10 right and im glad they didnt just list next gen games.

Horrible list imo, i think we could come up with a better list than that! Heres my top ten lol:

1. Final Fantasy X (PS2)
2. Golden Sun (gameboy advance)
3. Devil May Cry 4 (PS3)
4. Street Fighter 2 (megadrive)
5. Grand Theft Auto Vice City (PS2)
6. Grand Theft Auto IV (PS3)
7. Kingdom Hearts (PS2)
8. Pro Evolution Soccer 4 (PS2)
9. Golden sun 2: The Lost Age (gameboy advance)
10. Time Crisis 3 (PS2)

i wouldnt put final fantasy in there i thought it was awefal same as gta4 i think cod4 is the best ever online game
but as for my all time fav it goes to sam's foxes strip poker on the bbc b computer awsome block graphics awsome action and so hard to comlete
followed by chuckie egg on the same computer
really there cant be a best game as every ones views are so different

How stupid. Halo 3 is there, but the original Halo isn't. Halo 2 and 3 were both very poor. COD4 is amazing i agree, but GTA 4 is very overhyped and not that good and gears of war is perhaps one of the worst games i have played (only good graphically)

I personally voted for FF7 - as at the time I totally loved that game - still the only game to make me feel genuine emotion when a certain character died.

Sure it's dated now, but at the time it was outstanding

15 Tomb Raider (PSone) - brings back memories
16 Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES) - best game on the nes
17 Tetris (GameBoy) - you've got to love it, they killed it on the ds thou
18 Half Life (PC) - remember playing this on my very first pc lol
19 Sonic the Hedgehog (SEGA Mega Drive) - another great classic
20 Super Mario World (SNES) - the days of the cape lol

Not a bad top 20 but def not my top 20 lol

GOW is one of the best games ever made and has one of the biggest online traffic ratings of any game.

It takes a long time to get good at this game. And many people dont bother as they sign online and get nailed by all the GOW Pros.

WoW really does suck... it's only subscribed so much because they went for broke and blasted out on advertising, and loads of little kids play it!

A game called Dark Age of Camelot should defo be up there , not many people will have heard of it, but it was an immense game in it's day!

I totally agree, if you measure the greatness of games on the impact and the quality of when they were released, surley some older games deserve a better rank like; super mario bros 1 & 3, sonic 1 & 2, command and conquer (first game i ever played online in about 93'), tomb raider, gran turismo, etc.

I can't believe halo 3's rank and cod 4 being no.1.
dont get me wrong ive wasted many hours playing cod 4 but its no where near the top in my view, as as some one has already said, its down to opinion at the end of the day. (its just that some peoples opinion is worth more than others)
