Red Lights Of Doom !!!??

Hey everybody ....

This question goes out to all those xbox owners out there .....

I am considering verifying on an xbox 360 premium tonight. I know in the past the build quality of these has been very poor.

Is this still the case .... ??

Obviously the main issue i am reffering to is the red lights of doom !

Any info would be much appreciated !

Ive had my xbox for 2 years and had the ring of doom once, quicly sorted and no probs since (touch wood)

Hi mate, Im not sure about the Xbox 360 Premiums, I only have ones from before they started putting HDMI ports in them, 1 premium has lasted years without any problems and 1 had just last about 6 months before it had to be sent in with the 3 RROD!

The elite that I have has been running perfectly since day one, the noise has always been quiet and not one problem to date.

But if anything should ever go wrong, Microsoft have extended the warranty on Xbox 360's soo much that you'll never have to worry about it.

P.s. Plus Microsoft will send you a 1 Month free trial Xbox Live Gold when they send you back your xbox

2 year ish old 360 owner, and no problems what so ever, make sure you give it space to breath and dont block any of its vents and you shouldnt have anything to worry about

Had one since launch day (must be 3 years now?) and no problems.
Also had a second since late 2006, no problems either.

Both premium.

My brother's has recently had the red rings. He bought his like 2 years ago now I think, and I read somewhere that Microsoft extend the warranty to three years if you have the rings, allowing you to get it fixed.

This is all good, but does anybody know how he'd get it replaced? Does he ring somebody, or email somebody?

Ring Microsoft... they will send DHL to pick it up off you

I got my 360 in feb 07 and rrod last sept. Ms fixed it and renewed my warrenty but it did take like 3 weeks

I know that all the original release, or early release consoles have been given extended Warranty's due to the problems, my brother got his in June/July the year of release, then last year, after the standard 1 year warranty, he got red lights. Phone microsoft, they said they had extended warrantys on these xboxs, UPS guy came and picked it up, took it to their repair centre and they fixed it.

Got the xbox back, red lights again, got it sent away AGAIN and got it sorted.
Got a free copy of Perfect Dark Zero has compensation for the problem (though at that point it was on of the lower end titles, cant complain at a freebie though!)

Tbh, iv had a 360 for 18 months, and a ps3 for 4 days and im already enjoying the ps3 more!
