I just got the red rings on my 360 after nearly two years of playing

Does anyone know how much it costs to get repaired??

I have ps3 and wii, would you recommend just ditching the 360 or getting it repaired??

This happened to my brother, luckily because of the frequency of this problem, the normal 1 year guarantee he had with his xbox from microsoft was extended. We printed off a ups label and sent it away to the repair centre and they sent it back all fixed.

My brother got his xbox about 2 years ago when they were released so you should hopefully be able to get it sorted.

Hi, Microsoft have extended the warranty to 3 years. My friend had his replaced, there and then at virgin megastore after 2 years of owning it....

Another friend had to send his to Microsoft for repair, it only took 11 days too...

Yeah you should be covered mate (up to 3 years) as long as it's not chipped or anything like that

I'd get it repaired, the 360 is king in my eyes

360 is king by along way i've got all 3 main consoles and it wee's all over the others, anyway phone xbox up they will sort it, first check all your plugs are in correctly ie the electric plug as if not it lights go red. only reason i found out is my daughter plug it out alittle the other week and i sh** myself thinking o know the red ring of death. plug it back in hey presto all working again.

Thanks, apparently they are sending me a box so I can send them my 360.

They send you a box and they collect it I think or you send it, and they send it back within around 2 weeks, either they fix it if they can or they'll send you a brand new one

By any chance do you think if i went out today and bought an 360 it will happen to mine? or was it the old lot? have microsoft fixed it?

if it happens within 3 months of owning the console then you can return it to the shop you got it from and have it replaced on the spot thats if you still have the reciept i got the RRoD too but i lost my reciept so i sent mine away only took a week and a half to come back and even gave me a month of xbl free but i had to provide my own box.
