Looks really, really cool

Same graphics card, as I was looking at.

Finished building my PC y'day funny enough..

One thing though, I would have invested in a Quad Core if I were you - but that's me

Re: My New PC Build

yea, i was going to go for a quad Q6600 but to keep cost down and for the fact that i can beat the Q6600 speeds with a few tweaks i went for the e4500.

the quad isnt really much use atm with regards to progs and games, so the E4500 overclocked provided better speeds esp with the 8800GTX backing up the graphics.

by choosing the Core 2 Duo E4500 i could upgrade most other bits, keeping costs at £600 for the lot and not losing any performance

Whats the spec of your new build darius?

any pics?

Re: My New PC Build

True, true

But even though you're right about overclocking the E4500, a Quad Core would be a more future proof solution, and only would have cost you an extra £40 - £60. Give it a couple months and there'll be loads of applications which are quad-core supported.

Erm, no pics as of yet, and it's a really basic one. Only gonna use it for *downloading stuff* lol :

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4000+ 2.10GHz
Hitachi Deskstar T7K500 320GB SATA-II 16MB Cache
LiteON DH-20A4P-21C 20x DVD±RW IDE Dual Layer ReWriter
2GB DDR Dual Channel
Intergrated graphics and sound

Like I said, gonna use it just for doing illegal stuff lol, keep it on all the time, and burn a few occasional films

Gonna build a powerhouse when my Bank Transfer from RI comes through

Re: My New PC Build

Nice PC there, I'm going to get a 8800GT soon... they aren't meant to be that much worse than the GTX (when it's overclocked it's the same) and the GT is like half the price

Re: My New PC Build

I wouldnt go for a 8600 at all, bad chipset. If you cant afford a 8800GT/GTS/GTX then the rest of the nvidia range is a bit pants.

If you where thinking of going for a 8600 i would reconsider and go for a HD3870 by ATi, much better card
