![]() | Re: NEWS: Wii 'may' be took off the marketDoes anyone else think this doesn't makes sense? Look at the date of the patent (Feb 1, 2005) it's well after the inception of the Wii (revolution) concept (and Nintendo have earlier patents) and if this wins does that mean that all TV remotes are breaking patent or just because all telephones are numbered 0 to 9 that they are someway in breach. Meh, thought the whole thing was a joke... just the rich trying to get one over on the richer LOL W.> |

Also the had ample oppotunity to file this suit before nintendo built several million units and started shipping them, clearly they wanted to make sure the patent was breached so that they could get royalties, rather than give fair warning and allow nintendo to change the design, if it does go to a jury court and i'm pretty sure nintendo will win, I just don't think nintendo look the part of the big bad guy not like sony or microsoft would. |

| iPod 30gb | Re: NEWS: Wii 'may' be took off the marketOf course if they do hold the patent for anything more innovative than a TV remote, and the Wii does infringe upon that patent (and i'm sure nintendo's lawyers could've found it) then I don't think it's unreasonable for then to be awarded some kind of royalty, say $0.30 against every wiimote sold or bundled. After all ninteno take money off microsoft for their vibration "innovation" which I frankly still don't understand, arcade games, mobile phones, and adult toys all vibrated long before the rumble pack, and I think force feedback was available for the pc before then aswell. I think there really needs to be a change to patent law, something like after filing a patent you have a year to produce and market a product based upon that patent design, otherwise you have to refile it, or let it go. I mean where exactly is the Interlink-mote, and if it was as original and innovative as the wiimote then why isn't it a huge success? |

Yeah, that's ok in theory but what if you don't have the money to produce & market something you've come up with. Hardly seems fair to let someone else profit from your hard work. (or let a big company buy you out against your will) Last edited by Emma; 12-12-06 at 03:12 PM.. | |
