Nintendo Wii Games

So now that I've gone into processing for the Wii, it's time I've had a look at games for the console. As Wii Sports (no sniggering at the back) is bundled in, that's one less one the list to consider. So moving on, Wii Play -another game full of bundles, including the Pool game, which by all accounts sounds amazing, also comes with a second controller, so that becomes the first launch-date must, as it removes the need to get an extra controller. Nice.

This is where things become tough, Nintendo are launching with the new Zelda on launch. Having not had a Nintendo (apart from the FamiCom ), I bypassed the Zelda experience, but from what I understand, you don't buy a Wii on launch date unless you get Zelda with it. It just doesn't happen, despite the rather negative game preview on Eurogamer.. Then there's also Red Steel, which for me is more of a definite than Zelda, just for the sword-fighting with the Wii-mote.

Then there's the Virtual Console - downloading games from older systems for a small charge - £3 for a NES, £5 for SNES and Megadrive and £7 for N64, so far the following have been confirmed for launch (spoilered due to long list);

From those, I will definitely be spending £6 on Duck Hunt and Mario Bros from the NES - to recreate the days of the FamiCom, now if only they'd brought out the Lotus Racing Game from the Megadrive and the basketball game for the NES, I'd probably be the happiest person in the world. I love this idea of dowloading classic games for a few quid - I'll be dowloading the Doom series as soon as my 360 arrives as well - if only someone would port Wolfenstein 3D - the original and ultimate first person shooter...

Wanna see how the hell swinging the controller through the air is gonna make the guy on the screen hit the ball!

Haven't looked at the launch games to be fair. But if Zelda game is half as good as ocarina of time on the N64 then it is a must.

i am on 6/10 for my wii hoping to complete site in the next week, games i gonna be getting are:wii sports (obviously) , zelda, red steel, super monkeyball, super mario galaxy , warioware, supersmash bros and metroid 3 !!!! lets hope i get lots of xmas money lol!!
