Is it worth having a 360 and a PS3?

Hi all, I'm close to getting a Free PS3 and as I already own a 360 (and love it!) - is it actually worthwhile me keeping the PS3?

Most games come out on both consoles anyway, right?

Admittedly the PS3's graphics are slightly better, and it does have Blu-Ray but does that merit having 2 consoles that essentially do the same thing?

Selling my 360 is not really an option too because all my friends have 360s and are on Live.

So basically is it worth having both or not? Cos I reckon I could sell the PS3 for a decent amount...

I would never have both personally. I can't see any point.

It all depends on the number of PS3 exclusive games that you are interested in... and there isn't too many. I've got both but the 360 is definitely my main console. The PS3 is significantly quieter and doesn't heat the house the same way as the 360 does but having to install new games (slowly) can be annoying when you just want get on and have a shot.

I'd only get a PS3 for BUZZ & MGS4 and maybe to play my old PS2 games on.

Yeah, I'm not sure about all games, but it takes like 10 mins to install GTA4, maybe more. Its the same with demos, cant just download them and play like on the 360, they must install first

the 360 has the best game range. If you want a PS3 for bluray and MGS then keep it. If not 360 id your best bet. Plus the online experience and traffic on a PS3 is no where near the 360.

Re: Is it worth having a 360 and a PS3?

I HAVE BOTH
i so prefer the 360 it may be louder hotter etc but online its so much better than the ps3. i only got the FREE ps3 for the bluray player i got a couple of games for it but never play them. the one game i wil get is gran turismo but thats all.also to download a demo on the ps3 is a pain in the arse as you download it then install it after the download is finished.
any way id get both for the sake of it like i did 360 for games and the ps3 for movies

If you are getting them for free then you may aswell get both but personally i would only buy one or the other as both are similar.

I thought that was just an optional thing that speeded up loading times?

Category:PlayStation 3-only games - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm not sure how recently that was updated though.

Some of the games are optional and some have to install. I've got an install file at 6 gig so you need to keep an eye on the hard drive space if you have more than a few games.

I also find the download times to be slower compared to the xbox.

Re: Is it worth having a 360 and a PS3?

im a 360 owner myself but i still think a ps3 might be worthwile if u want a blu ray player and if you like a few of the exclusive games. I will probably play on my 360 mostly but the ps3 is the cheapest blu ray profile 2.0 player and it has a couple good games that make it worth keeping.

Re: Is it worth having a 360 and a PS3?

I've got both. I've always been a PS man - had both 1 and 2 and was never really interested in the Xbox. However I must say that I find myself playing the 360 more than the PS3 - there are more games, and the achievement thing makes me want to complete them more than if I play the same game on the PS3. Also, a lot of the games seem to be better on the 360 - PES for example.

Just my two penneth, and I would still recommend getting both - especially if they are both free!!
