I've been looking through the site, and as every one says o2 locked, only 1 says contract required,
so do you offer any payg ones? and how many refs would that be on the new system?

the old ones came locked but they could be unlocked very easily for pay as you go.

There is very little info about pricing plans etc for the new one yet so i doubt Ash will be able to answer that right now. I would expect it will become unlockable at some point like the last one, but how long that will take we will just have to wait and see.

with regards to number of refs, giveaway have the 8gb at 5 refs and 16gb at 7 refs. RI are usually very low with their refs so i would expect them to be at a similar, if not the same, level.

until the pay as you go version is out, nobody will be getting an iphone unless you want the crazy contract that comes with it.
pay as you go version is rumoured to be around the same price as the old models so expect them referral rates to shoot back up.

It's a difficult one because until nearer release details will be scarce. Giveawa are offering it and i'm sure others will too.

I'm also sure that someone wil find a way to unlock it pretty quickly after release. But at the end of the day it is too early to know specifics.

For the record, I am still getting greens with a view to getting a couple of iPhones. If I didn't think I would get one and then unlock it at some point I wouldn't be bothering.

No, put a PAYG sim in. That's what I have now.

so the 13 refferals, i can get an iPhone, put a pay as you go sim in, and it works fine,
so long as i unlock it at my local phone shop
i thought you had to pay for a contract to get one?

OK, this is how it works the current iPhone - but remember no-one knows for sure with the new one until it is released.

The iphone is delivered locked. You download softwar called iLiberty and this will jailbreak, unlock, etc the iPhone. At that point you can put ANY sim card (except maybe 3) into it -contract, PAYG, Vodafone etc. You can also download 3rd party apps.

You can do all this at home. Takes a couple of minutes to download iLiberty, then maybe 5-10 minutes for it to do it's thing. Don't pay anyone to do it - it is quicker and easier (and better if you ever need to unlock again in the furture) to do it at home.

BUt like I say, this is just the current one. I would expect the new one will eventually get that stage, but right now no-one knows when.

Sorry for this unrelated topic, but is the new 3G iphone available on the site or any plans to put it up? Just thought I'll say something as the apple.incentives site has got the old phone on it. Think it not available anymore. If this has already been asked, can someone point out the right thread for me?
