I am raging!

Does neutral not mean, indifferent neither positive or negative? Why do they make it count for negative, could you not argue that neutral should count for positive if it is neither one or the other!

So I have lost my 100% feedback rating having never had a negative feedback remark!

Ebay officially sucks ass!
Ive just read the article about the feedback change. the neutrel and negative feedback only count against you for 12 months after that they expire. also if you now get repeat customers you now get feedback point for each transaction not like before how not matter how many times they bought off you you only got 1 feedback. my feedback went up by over 100 since the 15th

Re: Sellers can no longer leave negative or neutral Feedback for buyers.

Lol ...

I have just logged onto ebay for the first time in a few weeks, and because of the new way they calculate feedback i have now changed from 1200 feedback to 1234 feedback (still 100% positive)

This is obviously a good thing on my part, but i wont be using ebay much if i dont get the full option of leaving positive and negative feedback.

The fees from ebay & paypal are a joke.

The problem is, as soon as another payment company starts to take off and get recognised on ebay, they just buy them out.

Ebay bought paypal cos it got big, and then they bought verisign, cos it started to get recognised too.

So they'll just keep doing it, i think i'm gonna switch to ebid.

I dont think you get charged on there if your product doesn't sell.

I tried Ebid, but it just doesn't seem to have enough people looking at it

I Bought 5 item's off a seller and still have only received 1 point of feedback from them, was a recent purchase.

So after this mass conclusion that eBay officially sucks.

Does anyone have a safe and Legit alternative site?

There has been a report or two on BBC's watchdog about ebay and paypal and how they always take the buyers side.

And I just noticed my feedback went up as well I'm sure it was around 60 odd, it's now 97

I uploaded an auction to eBay just now and received this rather odd message:

Anyone else encountered this? Are they holding seller fees now as a means of ensuring safety???

Re: Sellers can no longer leave negative or neutral Feedback for buyers.

its ok thats another **** system ebay have placed on all sellers.
certain items must be paypal only and then paypal will not let you touch the money for 21days, ferking stinks everything to protect the buyer and nothing for the decent sellers.
crock of crap.

nice little earner for them too all that money sat in the bank for 21days earning "them" interest.

That is shocking, when i heard about that i was hoping it wasn't true as i sell quite a bit through ebay. I suppose it could be called ensuring safety, but i see it as an easy way to scam a seller.

I don't feel safe leaving money in the account that long, for whatever reason. I always withdraw as soon as receive the funds. If this is the case from now on, i won't be using ebay for anything in the future.

Given up on ebay, as they are just milking their position. Trying alternatives and playtrade seems to be working quite well, no fuss making listings or uploading pictures and you know how much your going to make before listing (no more OMG i forgot about paypal robbing me!). Plus it sits on there for 60 days or until it sells and fees are only charged when/if it sales. Obviously you are restricted to what is available on play, but so far with no effort (listed over 60 items in 20 mins) ive managed to sell 15 items (in under a month, sold 2 cds today) - 10 of which were fee free as a special offer up until the end of april. Only negative side is your charged 5% to withdraw the money to your bank account, but obviously you can use it to buy stuff from play which i like since i order from there regurly - have £65 to spend atm!

Re: Sellers can no longer leave negative or neutral Feedback for buyers.

at least when the new faster payments system gets launched soon it should take a hit on paypal - maybee thats why ebay are demanding so many things use paypal, to protect them from loosing business to faster payments!

in short faster payments is same day (and near to instant apperently) bank to bank transfers for amounts up to £10,000, replacing both BACS and CHAPS - BACS takes 3 days and CHAPS costs £25 ish in fees

I sent a £300 item to portugal just over a month ago, i sent it by dhl, insured and everything. The guy said that the box was empty when he got it so put in a despute on paypal, after several days arguing he escalated it to paypal. They then took around 30 days to decide which they eventually decided in the BUYERS favour. All wasnt too bad until i found out you have to make a claim from DHL within 30 days (which it was now over) + you need a pic of the damaged box. In the end i offered him £150 to try and close it which he accepted. s**tty ebay/paypal!
