Account on hold

Ok, well this isnt a whine thread about my account being on hold, more of a what the f are they playing at.

Let me explain, i started me account ages ago, about 18 months ago, where i know i broke the rules by having my mum signed up, although the only reason i think i realised is that giveaway announced that it became against the rules, or i read it somewhere else.

But that straight away led me to get my mum to stop completing her offer and such (this wasnt a duff account made by me either).

Anyway, i finished my 10 referrals and put my account up for verification - i lost 5 greens and my mums account just had her offer "reversed".

Then i left the account and picked it back up a year ago - where i got my last 4 referrals and put my account up for verification.

Logged on last night, and found my account was on hold - due to my mothers account that was created back when i created my account.
But the worst part is that i wasnt put on hold the first time, but when i had succesfully completed all 9 referrals that none were reveresed.

Does this mean giveaway let me continue getting referrals knowing that my account had broke the rules the first time it was veririfed, but waited for me to earn more greens before taking action?

As you can see in the picture the accounts put on hold have been there since my first verification, the 5 signups after that are all recent because i had friends do it.

Looks like you broke the rules ages ago, and they let you carry on getting referrals.

It happened to me, i've tried explaining it, till i'm blue, but go nowhere.


Although yours should have been flagged up as on hold the first time??

your account should have gone on hold back then when ur mums did.

Thats really my point, why they didnt ban my account the first time, but instead let me carry on getting referrals until i had all my offers stay green.

I understand that i broke the rule that i had a person from the same household sign up under my referral, and i can live with it, but the fact they didnt ban me the first time and let me continue i really dont understand.

I opened a ticket and i just got the rules pasted to me.

The only thing you can do is push them on the point you weren't put on hold the first time, and it was a mistake on their part.

I've found givaway very strict on the rules though.

I've only done 1 givaway site, and got put on hold for the same reason as you, im actually verifying on a wii from givaway now and bricking it, as if you go on hold, you normally stay on hold, no leeway.

Other sites will actually listen to a genuine reason and help out but not givaway.

This isn't true, we are more than fair when it comes to taking accounts off hold for "genuine reasons". What constitutes a "genuine reason" is open to interpretation however, and it is never as clear cut as it seems. I'm sure you can understand that everyone and their wife states it was a genuine mistake when they get put on hold, and come up with all sorts of intricate storeys to get themselves taken off.

Not accusing you of this Murder, I will take a look at your account and see what happened.

Sorry i didn't mean to offend, i can imagine its difficult to police.

However my account was put on hold for a genuine mistake that was explained in support tickets, but my account stayed on hold, so i am only stating my personal experience.

Well i can understand why im on hold, just why i wasnt on hold the first time and allowed to continue is my problem.

So any update tab? Support ticket was moved to the "Verification department" but i haven't heard back yet.

Yeah I checked out your account and found that it was not actually verified the first time round. At the time you were using the site we did not have in place the pending status for LOVEFiLM, all LOVEFiLM offer completions went straight to green, and then we would get a report every 2 weeks or so from LOVEFiLM with the reversals. Reversed greens would then just turn back to yellow. I am sure a lot of exceem members can remember that time as it was very frustrating to see a bunch of greens disapear. This is why we invented the pending status. Anyway, you had enough greens to submit your account for verification, but before the verification date we ran the reversal report and 5 of your greens were reversed, this means you no longer had enough greens to verify so your account was automatically removed from verification and put back so you could get more greens. This is a completely automatic process, any account verifying that does not have enough greens is removed from the verification process.

So you can see your account was not actually checked by a person the first time, and it was not until you sent your account for verification this time round that it was actually checked.

I hope that clears things up, let me know if not.
