Sellers can no longer leave negative or neutral Feedback for buyers.

what a crock of crap, buyers can leg a negative but as a seller you cannot leave a neg or even a neutral?. so what if the seller didnt pay or scammed you? you cannot warn other sellers.
looks like i will now be using alternative selling sites.

I used to sell loads of stuff on ebay but stopped about 3 mths ago , the price to list and then the final fee was getting to much + if you sold something like a xbox or ps3 they made you use PayPal as the only payment option (I do use paypal but it adds more expense on selling something) I sold my Wii with Buy it now and it cost me around £30 with all the chargers .They are getting greedy and the bubble will burst .

I sold a ps3 (60gb) and some games and extras for £502

From that i lost nearly £50 in ebay and paypal charges !

Thats 1/10th of the final amount .... and that is waaaaayy tooo much !

Re: Sellers can no longer leave negative or neutral Feedback for buyers.

it is ridiculous that sellers can not leave appropriate feedback about buyers! I sell loads on ebay but I think this is a silly move.

I have been in situations where I would not leave negative feedback for the fear of receiving it myself but in a way I think that was a good thing because it means you weren't petty when you left comments.

Now I think people will leave neutral and negative feedback more often because they know the sellers can do nothing in return.

Strangely you can still leave positive feedback as a seller, just not neutral or negative...isn't that some sort of censorship?

And good point about the fees, think of the money ebay are making for every single item sold (ebay and paypal fees)...silly money if u ask me!

Rant over

eBay is shocking, but it seems like it is the only decent auction site around. I have a few games to sell and am going to be forced to use ebay as that is the place with the best market. But this feedback rule goes to show how idiotic the owners are.

Really i didnt know sellers were no longer able to leave feedback???????? wtf??? ive been a ebay member for over 7 years with over 1500 feedback. But ebay has generally been going down hill year by year. fees going up paypal being made as only payment method even though paypal always decide in the buyers favour if someone doesnt pay for recorded delivery and the item gets lost even though seller has proof of postage paypal always give the buyer back there money. They charge 9% final valuation fees for games and consoles what a rip off

What about the fact that if you're not a powerseller and selling an item like an ipod or console, you HAVE to accept Paypal, and then Paypal now demand that you send the item whilst they HOLD you're money for 21 days/until the buyer has left positive feedback, before you can even put it in your bank account? I never thought they would get THAT bad, it's like saying 'hey buyers, come commit fraud and we'll make it even easier for you!!' i doubt i'll ever bother selling anything again

any type of media, including stuff like cassettes and vinyls are liable for the 9% listing fees which is a joke. I used to sell limited edition and out of press vinyls and cassettes but ended up listing them as music memorabilia because otherwise i ended up paying over a £5 in just ebay fees on a £50 vinyl, plus then add paypal fees on to it, and it all adds up.

Exactly. Last year, Paypal tried to make me liable for over £300 after a buyer committed fraud and claimed 'unauthorised payment' on the PS3 i'd sent to his CONFIRMED Paypal address Special Delivery electronic signed for. I made a thread on here ages ago- ended up having to inform the financial ombudsman, at which point Paypal caved. Just imagine how hard it would have been to get my money back if I hadn't been able to withdraw it into my bank account! The 'buyer' wouldn't have even had to try hard! I swear those two companies are heading for a fall....
